Phil is a senior advisor to Pennylegion Chung LLP and a founding partner of Cowperthwaite Mehta, an accounting practice in Toronto that also specializes in providing audit services to small and medium sized not-for-profit organizations. From 2006 to 2011, Phil was CPA Canada's nominee member on the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and from 2012 to 2014, Phil was CPA Canada’s nominee member on the International Federation of Accountants Small and Medium Practices Committee. From 2012 to 2013, Phil participated on the CPA Canada/Canadian Public Accountability Board committee on Enhancing Audit Quality. Since 2006 Phil has also been a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council overseeing audit standard setting in Canada.
